A Couple Finishes & Some Other Stuff

Hope this finds each of you doing well! We’re just peachy keen here, except we could use some rain! It’s brown out there! I know it’s winter. But usually here in Texas we have green winter weeds! Praying for rain!

Now on to quilty things! I finished the little log cabin gift quilt!! Woohoo! Now just have to get it in the post!! Simple in the ditch quilting except for the brown corner blocks, I quilted my first pine cones! I love the fabric I found for the backing! Just a perfect mountain log cabin scene!

I even finished the leaded/ender for a little table topper!

I also got the little blue table topper bound! We traveled to one of our Grandson’s first birthday party so got some hand stitching time!

Here’s the grand! Can’t believe he is already one! Time sure does fly!

And here’s the little sweetie who is 18 months that we keep two days a week! She has Gramps wound around her sweet little finger!!

Now other quilty stuff!!

I finished this pillow awhile back. Again another vintage block I bought on eBay. It was the only. It’s one, so I though a pillow would work. It coordinates with a bed size flimsy I finished (which I’ll show in a later post).

I’ve got another project started but won’t show it yet! It will be grand #7 little boy quilt!

I needed a leader/ender project so....over the years I’ve saved every little left over triangle...

And they are becoming little hour glass blocks!

So...there’s been lots of Black Beauty, tea and me!!

I wanna make this quilt! Is this temptation or what!!

  2. Oh, I love every single little project you have shared! Sweet--as are those precious grandchildren.
Your FMQ skills have advanced to the "Art" level! Great pine cone!
Really like what you have sketched for the upcoming grandchild quilt.
And that is a beautiful little pillow made from the vintage block. I look forward to seeing the coordinating top.
That is a wonderful quilt pattern that is tempting you. If it comes on one more magazine cover will you take that as a sign? LOL

  3. The moose prints make perfect corners for you little quilt. And the backing goes right along with it.

  4. Your have been busy. All your finishes are lovely. The log cabin is perfect. Love the moose in the corners and the backing fabric is just the right one. The cushion is gorgeous and I am itching to see what you do with your triangle scraps. Yes, the last quilt is a beauty. I have no doubt that you would be able to tackle it.....and most beautifully so. Hope you get some rain soon. Oh, last but certainly not least.....your grands are the sweetest!

  5. Your log cabin quilt is fabulous - love those brown logs and the moose in the corners just finish it off so nicely! And great looking pinecones! Your grandies are gorgeous Doniene - your family is growing so quickly! The pillow turned out so cute - a lovely rescue of someone's unwanted work. Great projects in the works too - I love that quilt on the cover too...foundation piecing?

  6. Thank you for your kind visit, and your caring prayers for my little mama and for me, too, Doniene.
How I love seeing the beautiful projects that you do. I so love the pine cone that you quilted! What a great way to use that vintage embroidery piece that you found on eBay!
I think of you everyday, with your sweet gifts that you sent me from the teacup exchange. I am still drinking all the tea that you so generously sent me. Blogging friends are the best!
