Flimsy Frenzy!

It has been quite some time since I blogged, not sure why except we had a wedding, we ranch (so my work hours are sunup to sundown), I'm working four Border Collie now, I keep two darling granddaughters twice a week, I play Hay Day and Words With Friends on my iPad, I post on Instagram to stay connected with my kids, I forget to take photos of daily events or for that matter for special events, I've struggled a bit with the blogger app, and I just didn't feel like I had much to share! But want to get reconnected with my blogging friends! So here goes!!!

The past couple months I've been on a mission to assemble the many many blocks I have pieced or have purchased into flimsys. This is one I finished a few weeks ago. I bought the eight blocks on eBay several years ago, but just couldn't decide how to set them. I pulled them out and played around with fabrics and layouts and finally laid them next to each other? LOVE how when set together a secondary pattern emerges. This is also a new size for me - cot size - 45" x 80". Pleased to add this one to my flimsy pile (which I will share at a later date!)

Hope this finds each of you well and happy!

Blessings from Texas!

  2. Ah, Doniene, good to hear from you! I know you are one busy lady, and the list at the beginning of the post is enough to make most of us curl up for a nap and forget blogging altogether!!
Cot size quilts are wonderful for curling under on the sofa for a nap--or taking camping, or any other number of times when a long, narrow quilt fits just right!
Those blocks do make a fun design when set side by side.
Would you be able to share any wedding pictures? Would love to see your event!
And I am looking forward to seeing more from the flimsy pile! :)

  3. So good to hear from you, Doniene! Love your new finish. Setting them next to each other gives it a very modern feel. Do you know how you are going to quilt it?
You sure are busy! Sounds like a lot of happy things happening.

  4. Your playing with those lovely blocks has imagined a beautiful quilt, Doniene. A lovely quilt to snuggle under. So happy to be able to visit your lovely place once again.

  6. You have a great eye for colors and designs, the quilt is gorgeous! I know what you mean about life being so busy, but yours is really busy! I know ranch work is hard, and training four dogs must be very busy as well as taking care of your granddaughters! It is good to hear from you, and what is happening in your life :)
