"Palmateer Point"aka "Saddle Point"

Good morning! We are truly having autumn this morning! Actually wore jeans, sweater and vest to do chores! Woohoo! Love the cooler weather!!

I did finish up Lori's SAL this morning except for sewing down the binding.  This was a fun one to do and I really like the results!!

Mostly crosshatching and FMQ outlining,  but I did add some feathers in the muslin. 

I named mine "Saddle Point" for the promontory of the Brady Mountains that we view to our west.

The first step in Lori's SAL is finished! 

A Full Fledged Finish!

Gracen knew her quilt was coming, and I finished it up just in time for her fifth birthday! But I added some more little goodies, too!

Her mama pieced the top and I quilted it with an all-over design of vining whimsical flowers and leaves. I think the fabrics are so pretty and fun, and though it was a big quilt (90"x100"), I never tired of stitching!

The backing was such a perfect compliment! Mama did a good job!

 

I added coordinating pillow cases.

...and a doll quilt and pillow for new Sophia doll!

A few notes: 

The topper on the cake was on my mom and dad's wedding cake, our wedding cake, and both older daughters' wedding cakes.

The grands were so good during the whole affair! Precious little ladies and gentlemen!

Our son was my escort to the ceremony! Isn't he a handsome fellow!!

A Few Wedding Photos

I hadn't planned a post so quickly,  but Janet O. requested to see some wedding photos. I only have a few on my iPad, so this is just a sample,  but when I get some more, I'll post again!

Flimsy Frenzy!

It has been quite some time since I blogged, not sure why except we had a wedding, we ranch (so my work hours are sunup to sundown), I'm working four Border Collie now, I keep two darling granddaughters twice a week, I play Hay Day and Words With Friends on my iPad, I post on Instagram to stay connected with my kids, I forget to take photos of daily events or for that matter for special events, I've struggled a bit with the blogger app, and I just didn't feel like I had much to share! But want to get reconnected with my blogging friends! So here goes!!!

The past couple months I've been on a mission to assemble the many many blocks I have pieced or have purchased into flimsys. This is one I finished a few weeks ago. I bought the eight blocks on eBay several years ago, but just couldn't decide how to set them. I pulled them out and played around with fabrics and layouts and finally laid them next to each other? LOVE how when set together a secondary pattern emerges. This is also a new size for me - cot size - 45" x 80". Pleased to add this one to my flimsy pile (which I will share at a later date!)
